Lecture: Pink Cell Tower
In his lecture, Daniel Irrgang refers to Julian Oliver's artwork Pink Cell Tower, on view at Skulpturenpark Berlin_Zentrum. The work reveals the power relations and ownership structures inherent in mobile technology. Alongside our mobile gadgets, the largely invisible communication network becomes visible through cell towers, though these are often concealed or camouflaged when placed in urban spaces. Pink Cell Tower responds to the opacity of this infrastructure by offering an alternative that is appropriate to a city's public ownership structures.
